I just finished reading through Proverbs again. This time when I was going through I put a start next to all my favorites. I’m going to go through it and list them below!
Proverbs 2:12,16 - Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men… It will save you also from the adulteress.
Proverbs 3:3 - Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:7 - Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
Proverbs 3:11-12 - My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.
Proverbs 4:23-27 - Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
Proverbs 5:18-19 - May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer - may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love.
Proverbs 5:21 - For a man’s ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all his paths.
Proverbs 7:23b - [A man follows an adulteress] little knowing it will cost him his life.
Proverbs 7:25 - Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths. (In regards to an adulteress)
Proverbs 7:27 - Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death. (Referring to an adulteress).
Proverbs 11:24 - One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.
Proverbs 11:25 - A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
Proverbs 13:12 - Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:20 - He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
Proverbs 13:24 - He who spares the rod hates his son, but he how loves him is careful to discipline him.
Proverbs 14:12 - There is a way that seems right ot a man, but in the end it leads to death.
Proverbs 14:31 - He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
Proverbs 15:1 - A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Proverbs 16:3 - Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
Proverbs 16:9 - In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.
Proverbs 17:17 - A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Proverbs 18:22 - He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.
Proverbs 19:2 - It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way.
Proverbs 19:21 - Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Proverbs 20:1 - Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.
Proverbs 20:19 - A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much.
Proverbs 20:22 - Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wit for the LORD, and he will deliver you.
Proverbs 21:3 - To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
Proverbs 21:30 - There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD.
Proverbs 21:31 - The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.
Proverbs 22:25 - Do not make friends wait a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.
Proverbs 23:5 - Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.
Proverbs 25:28 - Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control.
Proverbs 27:6 - Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.
Proverbs 27:7 - He who is full loathes honey, but to the hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet.
Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Proverbs 29:25 - fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.
Proverbs 30:8-9 - Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of God.
Proverbs 31:8-9 - Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Proverbs 31:17 - She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. (Referring to the Wife of Noble character)
Proverbs 31:20 - she opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. (Referring to the wife of noble character)
Proverbs 31:30 - Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
a lying tongue,
hand that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
